The all-new Honda Insight combines the exceptional hybrid fuel economy you need with the driving dynamics, stylish appearance, and long feature list you love about Honda sedans.
2019 Honda Insight: Design
This four-door, five-seat sedan shares the same platform as the Honda Civic, but thanks to a lengthened wheelbase it also has the best rear legroom in its class. The new Insight falls in-between the Civic and Accord in size. It also has the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, thanks to weight-saving features like an aluminum hood.
You’ll recognize the newest Honda hybrid by its Honda “flying wing” grille and coupe-like roofline. The interior is calm and quiet, thanks to sound insulation in the doors, floor, and engine bay. The trunk holds 15 cu. ft. of cargo, but standard folding rear seats make it easier to accommodate long objects.
2019 Honda Insight: Powertrain
Under the hood of the new Honda Insight, you’ll find a 1.5L Atkinson Cycle I4 engine paired with two electric motors and a lithium ion battery. The system generates 151 combined horsepower and 197 lb.-ft. of torque. An automatic transmission with push button gear selector and front-wheel drive are standard.
The new Honda Insight can achieve up to 151 MPG w/ the Touring edition and 155 MPG w/ the LX and EX models. Drivers will also be able to use steering wheel mounted “regen paddles” to select from three levels of regenerative braking.
